JANE E. YOUNG
CCPA, MSc, BScH, BScPA
Raised in Kingston ON, Jane completed her Bachelor of Science with honours from the University of Guelph. She then worked as a research associate for the Public Health Agency of Canada to investigate violence prevention programming on a global scale and populate the best practices portal.
Jane went on to complete a Master of Science in the Department of Pathology and Molecular Medicine at Queens University. Her research in bleeding disorders led to collaboration with thought leaders, multiple publications, and invitations to present at international conferences.
In 2013, Jane received the Young Researchers award from the World Federation of Hemophilia. She then completed the BScPA in the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Toronto with high distinction. The majority of Jane’s career in medicine has been spent in surgical disciplines including general, bariatric, plastic and neurosurgery, but she is now established as a primary care practitioner in Banff, Alberta focused on improving access to better health care within the community.
DR. ANGIE KARLOS
MD, MSc, CCFP
Born and raised in Banff, Alberta. Dr. Karlos pursued her post-secondary education at the University of Calgary, earning a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology and a Master of Science in Genetics, Nutrition and Metabolism. She successfully completed medical school at the University of Calgary in 2015 and became a licensed family physician in 2017.
Dr. Karlos has a passion for improving accessibility to, and providing barrier free health care. Personally, Dr. Karlos now lives in Calgary with her husband and 1-year-old son. Her ties to the Bow Valley remain strong and she spends most weekends at her family home in Banff.
